HOW GREAT THOU ART?

How great thou art is a performance that is offered as a declaration of love and appreciation of the creativity and faith in the community from which I come. 

 

A statement of love to those who understand and a lambast to those who do not. 

 

How great thou art  brings together many of the long term concerns of my practice, which include the  aesthetics of spirituality and religion, the societal role they have played in and on the lives of Black people, particularly from the ‘West Indies’ and the inevitable crossovers of cultures. Thinking about the results of prolonged and unexpected amalgamation.
